After losing their call centre jobs due to the recession a few years ago, a group of five men used the skills acquired at the call centre to pose as employees of UK-based banks and con Britons into obtaining unsecured loans.
The loan requests would later be turned down after acquiring the processing fee. However, the luck of the five-member gang ran out, when acting upon a complaint from the British High Commission, the Crime Branch busted the racket. The gang was running an illegal call centre from a rented house in Shakti Vihar in Pitampura.
